Um. Sure I wouldn't expect Latino/a people to be any less transphobic than
the general population, so why would this be a case to be decided by
popular vote?

Latinx is at the intersection of ethnic identity and attitudes to gender
identity, in a place where both, especially the second, are in flux. It
seems to work fine for those who find the term useful, at least for the
time being. The reasoning that those who introduced the term have is
interesting and certainly comprehensible to me. I'm not "speaking for them"
by not fighting against what they're up to. SRSLY....
