Having lived in both "lewziana" and Philly, I say
"nawlins" rather than New -<i>Or</i>-Lee-Ans, or New
Or-<i>Leens</i> (and wudder, go figure). I would think that was neither
clipping nor abbreviating, simply the native pronunciation. Can
someone explain if it isn't? <br>
