<BR>"muhdear (for "Mother dear), "Susta" ("u" of push, lengthened--for sister),  

<BR>"Ku 'in (for cousin), and "Untee" or "Auntee" (accent on "tee" in both cases

<BR>[for Auntie]).   Even educated African Americans resort to these

<BR>pronunciations, especially in cases in which this label is only name that the

<BR>speaker has ever called the addressee.  P-A-T
