<html><div style='background-color:'><P>I am interested in the way actor's learn an accent for a part in a movie or play. I am particularily interested in researching if an actor comes from Australia, like Nicole Kidman, is it easier for her to do a Southern American Dialect because she comes from Australia? I have heard her speak with a GA accent and she is very believable. And visa-versa for American actors and actresses if they come from a particular area in America is it easier for them to create a particular foriegn accent over another? </P>
<P>I know a lot depends on talent but it's worth a try to see what the ADS-L thinks on this subject. In hearing different actors and actresses perform it seems as though some have trouble carrying an accent and other times they are perfect for the part. </P>
<P>Let me know if there is any reserach or journals that will help prove this hypothesis. Thanks.</P>
