My name is Cathy Duchamp. I'm a Baltimore-based reporter for the NPR affiliate in DC, WAMU 88.5 FM.
I'm looking for a referral to a linquist who's studied dialect issues in Baltimore, specifically, the origin and use of the
word "Hon." [short for "Honey, as a way of addressing people]. I scanned your list of media experts and didn't find
anyone from Baltimore or who's looked into Maryland/mid-Atlantic dialect issues so thought I would see if you can think
of someone. The story I'm producing is about the controversy over trademarking the word "Hon," which is a cherished
term of endearment in Baltimore/seen as a part of the city's identity.

Thanks in advance for your help- Cathy

Cathy Duchamp
