The 2001 Elections

Earlier this year the ALT President and Executive Committee appointed a
Nominating Committee. The Nominating Committee had the following
members:

Pier Marco Bertinetto  (1998-2002) [Chair]
Joan Bybee             (1998-2002)
Mily Crevels           (2000-2004)
Nigel Vincent          (2000-2004)

The Nominating Committee had to propose three names for the Executive
Committee and two sets of two names for the Editorial Board of
Linguistic Typology.

For the Executive Committee the Nominators propose:

Östen Dahl        (Fall 2001 - Fall 2005)
William Foley     (Fall 2001 - Fall 2005)
Vera Podlesskaya  (Fall 2001 - Fall 2005)

For the Editorial Board the Nominators propose:

Hilary Chappell   (Fall 2001 - Fall 2005)
Peter Bakker      (Fall 2001 - Fall 2005)

and

Alice Harris       (Fall 2002 - Fall 2006)
Johanna Nichols    (Fall 2002 - Fall 2006)

All the nominees accept the nomination. It is now up to the Membership
to speak.

Could you please reply by e-mail to auwera at uia.ua.ac.be before Sept 15.

Possible answers are:

I APPROVE of the entire slate of ALT officers nominated.

or

I DO NOT APPROVE of the entire slate.
