Yes, traps are another specific referent in north Vanuatu also:

Mota  gono [-n- unexplained]  "a conical basket used for taking small
fish..."

Paamese  a-koro  "trap for catching wild chickens"

Nguna  kooro  "a particular sort of fish-net or bird trap".
