AFLA 8 call for papers

The 8th Annual Meeting of the Austronesian Formal Linguistics
Association (AFLA) will take place at MIT on April 27-29.

Abstract deadline:  March 1.
Invited speakers:
	Sandra Chung, University of California at Santa Cruz,
	Melenaite Taumoefolau, University of Auckland,
	and two student presenters to be chosen from the abstracts
	   submitted.

Abstracts are invited for 30 minute talks (20 minute presentation + 10
minutes of discussion) on any aspect of formal linguistics (e.g.,
phonology, phonetics, syntax, semantics, morphology, language
acquisition, language contact) of any Austronesian language.  Authors
should limit themselves to one single and one joint abstract.

Abstracts should be at most two pages long, in a 12 point font with
1-inch margins.  They may be sent either by e-mail (pdf or ps files are
preferred) or by regular mail.  E-mailed abstracts should be sent to
afla at mit.edu, or please send regular mail to:
