Central Tagbanwa: A Philippine language on the brink of extinction
Robert A. Scebold

The Central Tagbanwa people of the Philippines are on the verge of losing
their language forever. In the last sixty years, the ravages of war and
disease, and the large influx of migrants have drastically altered the
sociolinguistic dynamics of their homeland. There is no question that
Central Tagbanwa is an endangered language. If the trend shown in this study
continues, the Central Tagbanwa language will become only a sentimental
memory to the generation now being born. The aim of this book is to preserve
the linguistic heritage of the Central Tagbanwa people for generations to
come.
1. Historical Background
2. Sociolinguistic Dynamics

Studies in Philippine Linguistics Volume 13: 2003 Karao texts
Sherri Brainard

This volume is a collection of fifteen Karao texts. (Karao is a Southern
Cordilleran language of the Northern Philippines.) The texts represent a
variety of genre including traditional narrative, first-person narrative,
procedural, expository, and hortatory, and are presented in an
interlinearized format composed of an orthographic representation, a
morpheme analysis, a gloss for each morpheme, and a free translation. The
collection also contains a short introduction and three appendices
presenting information about nominal markers, pronouns, verb affixes, and
nominalizing affixes.
