Expertise on south and central Sumatra

Dear AN-langers,

Prof. Gregory Forth (Anthropology) asks the following question --

"I wonder if you could suggest anyone whose expertise includes  
languages of southern and central Sumatra--I'm talking basically  
about Sumatran Malay (thus just about everything except the Batak  
languages, Acehnese, etc.).

Particularly, I'm interested in knowing how the word 'mawas' and  
cognates (maweh, etc.), which refers to the orangutan are used. Any  
suggestions would be much appreciated."
