Salary Range:     $62,985 – $87,907 pa plus 17% super

The Department of Linguistics seeks to appoint a scholar to carry out  
research on Austronesian languages (with the exception of those of  
Central Malayo-Polynesian and South Halmahera ) and/or Papuan  
languages  and to contribute  to the supervision and training of  
graduate  students. Preference will be given to a candidate with an  
established record of research and publication  in the relevant field 
(s). Experience with languages of Melanesia is desirable. Candidates  
will be expected to provide a detailed statement  of the of the  
research project (s) they intend to pursue during the period of the  
appointment.  The research project should be compatible with the  
Department’s range of research interests, as outlined in the Further  
Particulars obtainable from the Head of Department.  The successful  
candidate will also be expected to serve on the editorial board of  
the publication series, Pacific Linguistics.
