  Tagalog has tumbaga too and had wondered where it came from.  I checked the Real Academia Español's dictionary at http://buscon.rae.es/draeI/  and it turns out it's a Spanish word from Arabic tunbak.    So I wonder if Tagalog got it from Spanish or Malay.
