Times: 8.30am to 12.30pm daily, Monday to Friday

Cost: US$120 per week, paid on the first day in cash or by cheque
to "Dili Institute of Technology". (If you need an invoice, please ask us in
advance.) If a course lasts only four days due to a public holiday, the cost
is $96.

Plus $17.50 for the Peace Corps East Timor Tetun Language
Course if you don't have it.

Level: Beginners: An absolute beginner cannot communicate at all.
Speakers at beginner mid and high can communicate minimally on everyday
topics, but cannot yet ask and answer all basic questions. It normally takes
3-4 weeks of intensive courses to progress through the Beginner stage.

Intermediate speakers can converse, but still speak inaccurately, and cannot
yet handle formal situations.

Unless you are an absolute beginner or have recently done a course with us,
you will need an interview to determine your level.

Teachers: The teachers and tutors are all East Timorese, with the exception
of the course coordinator, Catharina Williams-van Klinken, who has a PhD in
Tetun.

Method: Most teaching is in small groups, with a variety of teachers and
teaching methods. Teaching is almost exclusively in Tetun. The book and some
written material is in English, but participants do not need to be able to
speak English.

Location: Dili Institute of Technology in Aimutin. To get there, take the
Comorro road out from the city, and turn inland (left) at the Leader
supermarket. Drive straight through the intersection with the back 'Banana'
road (which links Bairro Pite and Delta). Then take the second road left, at
the four-way intersection. Follow this road until you get to a T-junction,
then head right. The campus is about 100 metres along on your left, up a
narrow track through some paddocks. If catching a taxi, ask for "eskola DIT,
kampus Aimutin", and insist they do not take you to the former,
better-known, Bairro Pite campus.

Application: Send the application form below to regis at tetundit.tl, or SMS
details by phone to the registrations officer, Helio Brites da Silva, on 736
9768. Helio can also arrange an interview, answer any questions you may
have, or take requests for special dates for future courses.
