Welcome to the 'Revising the Mihalic' e-mail list (MIHALIC)
to which you are now subscribed. Please keep a copy of this message,
as it contains information about commands to the list server.

The subject matter of the list is Papua New Guinea Tok Pisin.

The list is unmoderated (i.e. all messages sent to the list will go to
all people currently subscribed to MIHALIC), so subscribers should
themselves exercise moderation. Postings should be limited to 150
lines except in exceptional cases and should have a succinct one-line
summary at the head. Individuals who post new questions are encouraged
to post a summary of the answers after some time.

The list has been created following consultations among a group of
contacts from the Divine Word University, the University of Papua New
Guinea, the Institute of Papua New Guinea Studies, the Australian
National University, and others using Tok Pisin professionally, and is
aimed at revising Fr. Mihalic's 1971 'Dictionary and Grammar of
Melanesian Pidgin' for re-publication at some date in the future.
Divine Word University is the home of the project. The list
administrators are

John Burton <mailto:John.Burton@anu.edu.au> or
<mailto:jburton@morobegold.com.pg>

Pat Gesch <mailto:pgesch@dwu.ac.pg>

Malcolm Ross <mailto:Malcolm.Ross@anu.edu.au>.

Fr. Frank Mihalic has generously lent his encouragement. The list
is
open to all-comers. For more information, see the list's ome page
(address above).
