It has just come to my attention that many of you
are not aware that the ACD in a new and much-improved format designed by Steve
Trussel (a genius in sculpting cyberspace) is now available. Please be
advised that it is a work in progress, and is still only about 25%
complete. Although some sections are quite substantial (*b, which prints
out to about 500 single-spaced pages), others have barely been touched.
The ACD includes over 4,000 reconstructed base forms and more than 6,000 total
reconstructions (including affixed forms, reduplications and compounds), based
on comparative data from over 670 languages. More material should be
added soon, but Steve's first priority is to clean up the computational form,
make sure than all references that are cited are listed, etc.
