Subject: Last Name Response

Some things that come to mind are trade, craft, or profession names.
For example Miller (T at HH@@n) and Carpenter (Najj@@r).  Is there
something in English for KhuD at ry (like Green Grocer)? :)

Another thread to follow is the Hungarian Kadar name; as in Janos Kadar.
Might these names Kadar and KhuD at ry be related.

The name KhiDr is also used in Arabic.  It is related to KhuD at ry.  KhiDr
sounds like Kadar.

What do Hungarian Kadars call themselves when they settle in America;
sort of like Kertesz becoming Curtis.
