Subject: song lyrics query

I'm working on a project involving colloquial songs, and am looking for
someone who is familiar with and can help me decipher a few tricky lines in
the following songs:

Rashid Taha, "Ya Rayah" (from his "Diwan" CD)

Abu Bakr Salim bal-Fagih, "`Ala Dau` al-Kawkab al-Sari" (He's a Yemeni singer;
I'm told that this song is well-known, but I've only got it on cassette, not
on CD)

I will be happy to send anyone who writes to me at ncoffin at princeton.edu a
(brief) Arabic transcription of the lyrics indicating the places where I need
help.
