Of course, <ghain>  seems to be there as a fairly universal /g/ marker!
So the question therefore arises: under what circumstances do
<jiim>/<kaaf> _as opposed to <ghain>_ get used for /g/?  Is the choice
free, informed be education or audience, or dependent on pholological
considerations?
