Subject:Arabic Textbooks history query

Hello,

I am doing some research about the development or evolution of
textbooks for teaching Arabic. Specifically, I am interested in how
and why the content and approach has changed since the mid-1900's to
the present. Any knowledge of specific research already done on this
topic or general suggestions of where to look for such research would
be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
