The University of Chicago

The Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations at the
University of Chicago announces a new position of Lecturer in Arabic,
beginning September 2004, for one year, renewable.  Duties will include
teaching Elementary and Intermediate Modern Standard Arabic.  Applicants
are expected to have native or near-native proficiency in Modern
Standard
Arabic and extensive teaching experience.  A Ph.D. is desirable but not
required.  This is not a tenure-track position.  Applicants should send
a
curriculum vitae, a cover letter with a brief description of teaching
philosophy, supporting documents (including teaching evaluations and
sample
syllabi, if available), and three letters of recommendation to:
