Subject:Levantine to Mesopotamian Transition Zone Query

Dear all,

I am looking for informations on the existence of a dialect transition
zone
between North Levantine dialects (say Halab) and the Mesopotamian
dialects (either qeltu or gilit) in the upper Euphrates Valley.

I found in Jastrow and Fischer that
- Aleppo has a clearly North Levantine-type dialect
- Raqqah on Euphrates has a dialect similar to the Shawi dialect of the
countryside surrounding Der el Zor (gilit, with ki>ci).

What kind of dialect is spoken in the surrounding of Jerabulus for
instance ?

Thanks in advance

Mathias
