The Department of Arabic Language, Literature and Linguistics at  
Georgetown University invites applications for visiting Assistant  
Professor of Arabic, starting in August 2006 on a one-year, renewable  
contract. Ph.D. required. Applicants must be experienced in  
proficiency-based, communicative methods of teaching Modern Standard  
Arabic and spoken Arabic at all levels.  Areas of specialization  
preferred: linguistics, especially applied linguistics and  
sociolinguistics.  Experience in curriculum and materials  
development, and in proficiency testing a plus. Send letters of  
application, curriculum vitae and names of three references to:  
Department of Arabic Language, Literature and Linguistics, 306-F  
Intercultural Center, Box 571046, Georgetown University, Washington,  
D.C. 20057-1046, or via email to Ms. Kelly Beyer at  
<kb339 at georgetown.edu>. The department will start reviewing the  
applications on March 30, and will continue to receive applications
