Description:

The University of California, Davis, the Program in Middle East/South  
Asia
Studies, announces a lecturer position to teach first-year Arabic in  
a new
and growing Arabic program. The lecturer will teach one course in  
each of
three terms, September 25-June 14, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicant must have native or near-native proficiency in Arabic.  
Applicant
must have an M.A. or a Ph.D., or be A.B.D, preferably in Arabic or a
related field. Applicant should have experience teaching Arabic as a  
second
language at the college level.

Please send a letter of application describing texts and methods that  
you have
used in Arabic instruction.  Enclose a c.v., one-two sets of student
evaluations, samples of tests, quizzes, and teaching materials that  
you have
developed, and three letters of reference or a list of three  
references.  Send

Studies

95616. Salary
is contingent upon qualifications and experience, and percent of  
employment is
determined by number of courses taught.  Review of applications will
