Subject:2010 Arabic Census materials

As I hope you already know, Arabic was one of the 28 langauges in which the U.S. Census Bureau produced informational and promotional materials.

If you would like to have some of these "authentic" materials to use in your classes for the next few years, please let me know (atvalerie.a.smith at census.gov) and I will arrange to have some remainder cases shipped to you - first come first served.

You can see electronic files of these items at:
http://2010.census.gov/partners/materials/inlangfacts.php#arabic

Notes:
General Fact Sheets - very few remaining
How People Are Counted Brochure - 400 per case
Awareness, Confidentiality, and Action Posters - 200 per case
Confidentiality Flier - printed locally as needed, so none left
Faith Based Leaders Promotional KIT - comprised of a folder containing: a letter from the Director of the Census to Faith Leaders, suggested messages to be included in newsletters, suggested announcements to be made by the faith leader, and one sample each of a tri-fold brochure and a bookmark appropriate for distribution to the membership of the faith-based organization / church / mosque etc. - 200 kits per case.

Also, FYI, the Arabic langauge 2010 Census web page is at:
http://2010.census.gov/2010census/language/arabic.php
I know there are a few errors there - I have informed HQ twice, but it hasn't been updated.
I'm not sure how long it will be staying up. Some, but not all, of the printed materials listed above were vetted by Arabic speaking Partnership Specialists before they were printed.

Any questions about our outreach program, or about the census in general, I'd be glad to answer those too.

Looking forward to receiving your requests for our remaining printed materials!

Sincerely,

Valerie A. Smith
