Subject:Piloting Advanced Arabic Song Course

Dear Friends & Colleagues

I will be teaching an advanced content-based Arabic language, culture
and history through songs this Fall 2012, on August 20, 2012. This is
part of a grant won by Georgia Tech School of Modern Languages to
devise materials and teach advanced content based course for the less
commonly taught languages.

We are looking for colleagues and centers at US (only) institutes
interested in piloting the course fully or partially. I am aware that
the schedules have already been set for most of the Arabic courses
nation wide. And I am afraid it is rather a very short notice, but I
have been advertising about the course since April 2012. And I am
hoping that there are some colleagues teaching Arabic who have some
space in their schedules and are interested in piloting the course. We
are looking for full piloting or partial piloting.

Note that the course is ADVANCED. I would love to share it with all
levels, but unfortunately it is not feasible at this moment. The
course material is on Georgia Tech sever and is web-based. The course
is designed to be covered during the 15 weeks of a semester. It covers
songs from Aljahiliyya to modern times (Arab Spring).

If you are not in a position to teach this course, please pass the
word around and forward this email to instructors of Arabic in your
institute. Those who are interested in the piloting please do email me
ASAP and I will give you access to the web.

Thanks in advance and looking forward to hearing from you.

Rajaa
