Subject:AMIDEAST Summer Programs Abroad

Dear Colleagues,

AMIDEAST Education Abroad Programs in the Arab World is pleased to
announce summer intensive Arabic programs for 2012 in three countries
- Egypt, Jordan and Morocco. Each program includes two four-week
sessions with 25 hours of instruction per week. Each four week
session covers the material typically covered in an intensive semester
program in the US. Students may enroll for either one session or two,
in which case they will cover the material covered in an academic
year.

In addition to Arabic language instruction each program features the following:

* Housing (with Arabic speaking host families who provide
meals in Jordan and Morocco; in shared apartments in the central Cairo
neighborhood of Dokki in Egypt)

* Comprehensive medical insurance, including medical as well
as political/security evacuation coverage

* One weekend excursion (the excursions are different each
session in each country)

AMIDEAST will be using Al Kitaab fii Taallum al-Arabiyya, third
edition for its first and second year courses beginning this summer
(Book Two will be available to our students in soft copy). Each
course also includes instruction in the local dialect, using materials
prepared by AMIDEAST Arabic faculty, including DVDs in Jordanian
'ammiya and Moroccan darija produced with funding from the U.S.
Department of Education.
