Subject:New Years Resolutions in Arab Tradition

I would like to know if any of you have some information about New
Year's resolutions tradition in the arab/muslim culture for Muharram
and if it is mentioned in the Qoran or by the Hadaith. I guess it is
mainly related to the concepts of tobah and da3oa.
