Dan

See the following book by Dr. Muhammad Raji Zughoul, published in 2005:

دراسات في اللسانيات العربية الإجتماعية

It looks like there's a digital version:

Ahalan wa sahalan... Greetings...

Let me know which dialect[s] is of interest, and I can refer you to
some suitable titles and vendors?

While most outlets are in Saudi Arabia, Jordan or UAE, a good number
of them offer online order service.

A number of in-Arabic publications exist about local dialects in the
Gulf states, including a translation & publication in 1972 by King
Saud University [then U of Riyadh] of the late T. M. Johnstone's
_Eastern Arabic Dialect Studies_.

Hope this helps... kair, in shaa' Allah.

Regards,

Stephen H. Franke
