Subject:AMIDEAST Arab World Programs 2013 Summer and Fall

Dear Colleagues,

AMIDEAST Education Abroad Programs in the Arab World is now accepting
applications for summer and fall 2013 programs. In particular I would like
to draw your attention to our Area & Arabic Language Studies semester and
Intensive Arabic summer programs.

Intensive Arabic programs are offered in Egypt, Jordan, and Morocco each
summer. Offered in two 4-week sessions, each summer Intensive Arabic
session includes 100 hours of instruction in modern standard Arabic (80
contact hours; 5 credits) and colloquial Arabic (20 contact hours; 1
credit) for 6 total credits per session. Classes meet 5 hours per day, 5
days per week. One summer session covers the material usually presented in
one semester on a U.S. campus.

In Jordan, Egypt, and Morocco we offer Area & Arabic Language Studies
programs. On these semester or academic year programs, students carry a
14-17 credit hour load per semester. All students enroll in modern standard
Arabic, colloquial Arabic and two-three elective courses which are offered
from a variety of disciplines. With the exception of Media Arabic,
elective courses are taught in English. In addition to academics, our
students benefit from an on-site orientation, opportunity to live with a
local family (in Morocco and Jordan), structured ways to meet and interact
with local students, and organized excursions to exciting locations around
the host country.

The application deadline for all summer 2013 programs is March 15, 2013;
the fall 2013 program deadlines are on April 15. Please visit our website (
http://www.amideast.org/abroad/) to learn more about application
requirements, program components, and summer scholarships. If you wish to
speak with an AMIDEAST representative, please feel free to contact us with
any questions at EdAbroad at amideast.org<mailto:EdAbroad at amideast.org>.
