Linguistics in Arabia Conference 1

The Department of European Languages and Literature at King Abdulaziz
University is pleased to announce its 1st Linguistics in Arabia Conference
(LAC1) to be held on December 3-4, 2013 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Keynote Speakers:

Professor Emeritus Bruce Ingham, SOAS, University of London
Dr. Enam Al-Wer, University of Essex

Registration Fees:

$35 for students and $70 for non-students

Call for Papers:

Papers are invited on topics that deal with theoretical and applied issues
of Arabic Linguistics with particular focus on the linguistics of
Peninsular Arabic. The range of topics include: linguistic analysis
(phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics),
sociolinguistics, language variation and change and applied linguistics.

Abstracts must not exceed 500 words (including examples but excluding title
and references) and they must include the following: (1) Name(s) of
author(s); (2) Affiliation; (3) Email address; (4) Six keywords that
describe the research presented.

Abstracts must be submitted online by May 26, 2013 through EasyAbs (Easy
Abstracts):

Deadline for receipt of abstracts: May 26, 2013

Abstracts will be accepted on the basis of scope, relevance, originality,
methodology, and strength of conclusion. You will receive an email
indicating that your abstract has been successfully submitted.

Notification of paper acceptance will be sent to you by email by August 20,
2013.

Each presentation will be allowed twenty minutes followed by 10 minutes for
questions and discussion.
