Subject: JOBS:STARTALK Instructor Jobs at Anne Arundel Community College

*Arabic Instructors - STARTALK Program *

*Duties:* Anne Arundel Community College is accepting applications for
experienced Arabic instructors in an intensive summer STARTALK Arabic
program entitled "Launching into Arabic Learning and Teaching  2014" from
June 9 - July 18, 2014.  The instructors will complete a two week intensive
teacher training program, in which they will be paired with Teaching
Fellows to collaboratively design, develop and deliver an intensive Arabic
student program under the leadership of the STARTALK Director. The STARTALK
student program, in which the instructional team will complete teaching
practicums, will begin at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD on June 23
- July 18, 2014, pending final approvals.  The instructional teams will be
working with beginning Novice level Arabic and mid Novice level Arabic
students. Courses are heavily focused on the development of communicative
Arabic language skills, so applicants must be able to demonstrate advanced
proficiency in Arabic.  The grant-funded program provides stipends for the
instructors.

*Hours:* Summer STARTALK Program - 6 weeks (June 9 - July 18, 2014) Seven
hours per day.

*Qualifications:*

Bachelor's degree *and* advanced or native level of Arabic proficiency.

At least five years of experience teaching Arabic at high school or college
level, using communicative language methodologies.

U.S. Citizenship preferred due to Department of Navy security procedures.
