It is widely used in UAE, Levant and even in Egypt, too. You'll find it in Badawi's dictionary of Egyptian Arabic, Woodhead-Beene's (Georgetown U.) dict. of Iraqi Arabic, Matar's "xaSaa'iS al-lahja al-kuwaytiyya", Qafisheh's A Glossary of Gulf Arabic and probably in other books.
