The appointment is from the 1st<br>January 2009.<br><br>The Department of Contemporary Middle East Studies at the University of<br>Southern Denmark serves both to research and teach modern Arabic language<br>and culture, and to inform the general public about contemporary Middle<br>Eastern issues. Applicants' research records should primarily focus on<br>language acquisition of Arabic as a foreign language.<br><br>The successful applicant is expected to research language acquisition as a<br>modern foreign language as well as to teach communicative Arabic, and to<br>participate in the development of programs directed at new student<br>interested in learning Arabic.<br><br>It is an advantage if the applicant can document teaching experience in<br>communicative Arabic as well as experience in communicating issues to a<br>broader Danish audience. <br><br>Applications will be assessed by an expert committee.
