Native or near-native fluency in Modern Standard Arabic<br>required. The ideal candidate will have a record of publication on<br>modern literatures written in Arabic, with secondary fields of<br>research in other literatures of the modern Middle East, and/or<br>Medieval/Early Modern Arabic Literatures, and/or Comparative<br>Literature. The position will involve teaching courses of literature<br>in translation, as well as advanced language or literature courses<br>taught in Modern Standard Arabic. PhD in hand preferred, but the<br>exceptional ABD candidate will be considered.
