The position is a joint appointment in<br>the University’s Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and<br>Linguistics and the School of International and Area Studies.<br>Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Arabic language and literature in hand<br>at the time of appointment, native or near-native proficiency in<br>Arabic (MSA), and a demonstrable commitment to both teaching and<br>research. Research focus on Arabic literature and/or culture is<br>preferred. The teaching load is four courses per year and includes<br>courses in Arabic language, literature, and culture at the<br>undergraduate level. Salary is competitive.
