The lecture will take<br>place between 1:40 and 3:00 PM in the Alexander Library Scholarly<br>Communication Center at 169 College Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ.<br><br>William J. Fulco, S.J., PhD, is the National Endowment for the Humanities<br>Professor of Ancient Mediterranean Studies at Loyola Marymount University<br>in Los Angeles, California. In addition to a Ph.D. in Near Eastern<br>Languages and Literatures from Yale University, he holds graduate degrees<br>in Classics, Philosophy and Theology. His interests encompass ancient<br>languages, archaeology and Biblical studies, all of which he teaches at<br>LMU. He has published widely in reconstructive Afroasiatic linguistics and<br>the study of the Hebrew scriptures. <br><br>He is well known for his work in reconstructing Aramaic for the script of<br>the 2004 film "The Passion of the Christ" directed by Mel Gibson, and is<br>currently working on a script in Punic for the upcoming film "Hannibal the<br>Conqueror", directed by Vin Diesel.<br><br>The lecture is free and open to the public.
