<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium; white-space: normal; ">Position Opening<br><br>Executive Director <br>of the Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA)<br>in Cairo, Egypt<br><br>Deadline: November 1st, 2009<br><br>The Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) announces an opening for the position of Executive Director at the American University in Cairo (AUC). CASA represents a consortium of thirty-two American universities and offers intensive advanced summer and full-year programs in Arabic for American college students and faculty. The CASA Stateside office is currently located at The University of Texas at Austin. A detailed description of CASA and its various programs is available at<a href="http://www.utexas.edu/cola/centers/casa/">http://www.utexas.edu/cola/centers/casa/</a>. <br><br>The CASA Executive Director is responsible for:<br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>CASA curriculum, instructional materials, and test development<br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Planning the CASA academic and cultural programs and schedules throughout the year <br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Managing the CASA office and its budgets at AUC <br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Teaching of CASA classes <br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Providing guidance and supervision to CASA faculty <br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Providing counseling and advising to CASA fellows <br>*<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Liaising with AUC and the CASA Stateside office<br><br>The Executive Director holds an appointment as an AUC faculty member at a rank and salary appropriate to his or her qualifications. The appointment shall be for a minimum of two years (renewable), beginning June 1, 2010.
