The<br>ideal candidate will have a Ph. D. (though M.A. or M.S. considered) in<br>Arabic Language and Literature or related field, including (Applied)<br>Linguistics, (Foreign/Second/Heritage) Language Education, and Second<br>Language Acquisition. Other qualifications include: Native or near-native<br>proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), knowledge of a dialect of<br>colloquial Arabic, experience in teaching all levels of Arabic (preferably<br>in a North American university), competence in communicative,<br>learner-centered language pedagogy, creative use of instructional<br>technology, and formal/informal assessment strategies. The successful<br>candidate will teach six courses per academic year at the elementary,<br>intermediate and advanced levels. Salary is commensurate with education and<br>experience.
