The Language Training<br>Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient<br>management of language training activities for a group of languages taught<br>at DLS. Primary responsibilities include:<br><br>1.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Developing and implementing (or assisting in the development and<br>implementation of) foreign language program initiatives to meet department<br>goals/objectives;<br>2.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Recruiting, staffing, training, and evaluating language training<br>department instructors;<br>3.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Ensuring contract requirements regarding quality of the language<br>training program are met or exceeded;<br>4.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Instructing foreign language teachers in implementing appropriate<br>methodologies for use in adult language instruction;<br>5.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Evaluating (or assisting with the evaluation of) foreign language<br>program in accordance with established goals/objectives;<br>6.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Planning and coordinating (or assist with the planning and coordination<br>of) professional development seminars for foreign language instructors;<br>7.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Planning, coordinating, and conducting (or participating in) periodic<br>meetings with language training department staff members;<br>8.<span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span>Resolving customer service challenges on a case-by-case basis.<br><br>Qualifications:<br><br>Education and Experience:<br>-Master's degree in language/linguistics or related field (BA acceptable<br>with significant teaching or other relevant experience)<br>-Two years experience overseeing foreign language instruction for adult<br>learners <br>-Two years of experience teaching a foreign language (preferred)<br>-Fluency in a foreign language (Romance languages preferred) <br><br>Knowledge of:<br>-Curriculum design, instructional approaches, and current trends in<br>language training<br>-Principles of adult foreign language learning and professional development<br>-Organization, administration, and personnel management<br><br>Ability to:<br>-Select, train, supervise, and evaluate foreign language instructors<br>-Maintain professional working relationships with students and client<br>representatives<br>-Exercise leadership through the use of organizational, supervisory, and<br>interpersonal skills<br>-Work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse work<br>environment<br><br>We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as exceptional<br>career potential with a fast-growing organization.
