The successful candidate<br>will have the opportunity to play an integral role in fashioning a complete<br>international research university oriented around the liberal arts. We are<br>looking for a literary scholar who maintains an active agenda of research,<br>has substantial publication, and has demonstrated commitment to<br>undergraduate teaching.<br><br>Members of NYU Abu Dhabi’s standing faculty receive generous support for<br>research and travel. The teaching load is three undergraduate courses per<br>year (semester system), including at least one in the core curriculum. Other<br>terms of employment are competitive compared to U.S. benchmarks and include<br>housing and educational subsidies for children. Standing faculty members are<br>affiliated with relevant departments at NYU in New York. They typically<br>begin their appointments with a year of reduced teaching at NYU’s Washington<br>Square campus. Thereafter, they will have the opportunity to spend semesters<br>at NYU in New York or at other campuses within NYU’s global network. The<br>appointment may begin as soon as September 1, 2011 but could be delayed<br>until September 1, 2012. <br><br>Situated at a new global crossroads, NYU Abu Dhabi is integrally connected<br>to NYU New York. The faculties collaborate across the two campuses, which<br>form the foundation of a unique global network university and are linked to<br>NYU’s other study and research sites on five continents. <br><br>Alongside its highly selective liberal arts college, NYU Abu Dhabi is<br>creating distinctive graduate programs and a world-class institute for<br>advanced research that fosters creative work across the Arts, Humanities,<br>Social Sciences, Sciences, and Engineering.
