Candidates should have native, or native-like<br>proficiency in one dialect of Arabic with advanced mastery of Modern<br>Standard Arabic. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English<br>and Arabic are essential. Preferred skills include grant proposal writing<br>and computer skills. Responsibilities include teaching Arabic courses at<br>the elementary, intermediate and/or advanced level(s), leading the process<br>of revising the Arabic language curriculum, and participating in writing<br>grant proposals. Other responsibilities include engaging in scholarly and<br>college service activities and advising students. As the Arabic program<br>grows, willingness to teach interdisciplinary courses related to Arabic<br>linguistics and/or literature is preferred.<br><br>Applicants should submit (1) a letter of interest, (2) a statement of<br>teaching philosophy, (3) a curriculum vitae, (4) an official copy of<br>transcripts, and (5) a list of names and contact information for three<br>references.
