<br><div>The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (</div><div><a href="http://qatar.sfs.georgetown.edu" target="_blank">http://qatar.sfs.georgetown.edu</a>) seeks to appoint two faculty members in</div>
<div>the field of Arabic language instruction, as part of an expansion in the</div>
<div>field of Arabic language, literature and culture, including a path-breaking</div><div>new Initiative in Arabic for Heritage Learners. The successful candidates</div><div>will have the opportunity to collaborate on the development of the Arabic</div>
<div>language program at SFS-Q, which currently offers courses in both Modern</div><div>Standard Arabic as a non-native language and in the Heritage/Native</div><div>Speakers track. Applicants should have a graduate degree in Arabic Language</div>
<div>or a related field (Ph.D preferred), native fluency in Arabic, near-native</div><div>fluency in English, and have demonstrated high-quality undergraduate</div><div>teaching at all levels. Applicants should be familiar with</div>
<div>proficiency-oriented and content-based instruction and with the development</div><div>of teaching materials. The teaching load is three courses or nine credit</div><div>hours per semester. While a research record is not required, and while</div>
<div>appraisal and promotion will be predominantly based on performance in</div><div>teaching and teaching-related activity, research related to the subject</div><div>will be valued. The appointment is intended to be long-term, with</div>
<div>three-year rolling contracts renewable subject to satisfactory review.</div><div><br></div><div>Successful candidates will become members of a collegial team of core-track</div><div>and instructional faculty, who are committed to delivering a rich</div>
