<div>Tuesday 23rd July 2013 to Friday 26th July 2013. The main conference will</div><div>be preceded by a workshop day on Monday 22nd July.</div><div><br></div><div>We are pleased to issue our first official call for participation, which</div>
<div>includes details on registering for the workshop day and the main</div><div>conference, discounted on-campus accommodation, and the first announcement</div><div>of bursaries available to postgraduate students attending CL2013.</div>
<div><br></div><div>********************</div><div>WORKSHOP DAY</div><div>********************</div><div>We invite registration for the pre-conference workshop day. You can</div><div>register for this day either in addition to or separately from the main</div>
<div>conference. Participants have the choice of the following CL2013 workshops:</div><div><br></div><div>* Full day: Corpus-Based Approaches to Figurative Language</div><div>* Full day: Workshop on Arabic Corpus LInguistics</div>
<div>* Full day: Web as Corpus Workshop</div><div>* Full day: A Fully-annotated Pragmatic Corpus – the SPICE-Ireland Corpus</div><div>* Full day: Annotating Correspondence Corpora</div><div>* Two half-day sessions:</div>

<div>The main conference will run over four days, and will include plenary</div><div>lectures from Karin Aijmer, Guy Cook, Michael Hoey, and Ute Römer.</div><div><br></div><div>Participants are invited to register for the full conference. It is also</div>
<div>possible to register for a single day (or days) of the conference. Reduced</div><div>postgraduate rates are available, and early bird rates are in effect until</div><div>15th April 2013. Please see our website for full detais.</div>
<div><br></div><div>********************</div><div>POSTGRADUATE BURSARIES</div><div>********************</div><div>We are pleased to announce that we are able to offer a limited number of</div><div>bursaries to postgraduate students attending the conference. Bursaries</div>
<div>will cover the cost of registration to the workshop day; the full main</div><div>conference; and up to five nights' on-campus accommodation. Holders of</div><div>bursaries must, however, cover all their own travel costs. To qualify, you</div>
<div>must be a current full-time research student at any university worldwide.</div><div><br></div><div>Applications will be considered complete if two email messages have been</div><div>received at <a href="mailto:cl2013@lancaster.ac.uk" target="_blank">cl2013@lancaster.ac.uk</a>, before 15th April 2013:</div>
<div>1) One message from the applicant stating name, department, university,</div><div>degree, and field of research. In this email, please be sure to include</div><div>proof of your student status (e.g. a letter from your department, or a</div>
<div>scan of your student identification card or document);</div><div>2) A letter of support from your academic supervisor, stating how they</div><div>believe you would benefit from winning a bursary and attending the</div>
<div>conference.</div><div><br></div><div>All postgraduates attending the conference are welcome to apply, but</div><div>priority will be given to applicants presenting papers or posters at the</div><div>main conference.</div>
