<span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">Charleston, South Carolina</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">The History Department of the College of Charleston invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of the Middle East/Arabic-Speaking/Islamic World.  The time period, subfield, and regional specialization are open.  The successful candidate will teach upper-level courses in his/her areas of interest and training, courses on the pre-modern and modern Middle East, and survey courses in pre-modern and/or modern history.  The successful candidate will be able to contribute to interdisciplinary programs, such as Arabic Studies, African Studies, Jewish Studies, Urban Studies, and/or Women's and Gender Studies.  Candidates must have, or expect to complete, a Ph.D. in History before August 15, 2014.</span><br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">
