<br>Samira Farwaneh<br><br><br>The University of Arizona<br>Post Date March 25, 2014<br>Lecturer in Arabic Linguistics (one-year appointment, half-time)<br><br>The School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies (MENAS) at the University of Arizona is seeking a one-year half-time Lecturer in Arabic Linguistics, starting August 18, 2014. The successful candidate will teach two undergraduate courses per semester, one of which will be 4th year Arabic (Fall and Spring), the other two courses will be in Arabic structural linguistics or sociolinguistics, particularly Language and Society (MENA 330). This one-year position is benefits-eligible and non-renewable. The School of Middle Eastern and North African Studies at the University of Arizona is home to a vibrant academic community, consisting of twelve core faculty members and over forty graduate students, more than half of whom are in the PhD program. It coordinates activities with the Title VI-funded Center for Middle Eastern Studies, the Middle East Studies Association of North America, and the American Institute for Maghrib Studies, all of which are located on the University of Arizona campus in Tucson.
