[CDA] Good CDA reading materials for a DA class

Textbooks are political. Anupam, thank you very much. 

If we can assign an entire book, it is desirable. But if
you have to cover a lot in the sememster and if you can
spend only one or two articles on CDA, what will you
choose? I am thinking of choosing one chapter from the
now classic "Language and control" (1979) by Fowler,
Hodge, Kress and Trew. and some recent papers. What do you
think?
