[MODERATOR'S NOTE: normally I don't post "usage" questions, but since
this one has signficant linguistic content, and because the list has been
really dead recently I'm posting this one. ]

Subject: pis v. piseanna

Conas a u/sa/ideann sibh na focail seo?

Chuir me/ pis. (ma/ ta/ cinea/l amha/in i gceist ?)

Chuir me/ piseanna. (ni/os mo/ na/ cinea/l amha/in: pis ghlas,
                     pis mhilis, etc., cuir i gca/s ?)

How is the collective "pis" (peas) used in distinction to the
plural "piseanna" (peas) in Irish?

GRMA!

Dennis King
