Subject: 'ag'

Hello to all you Irish syntax types out there:

What category is 'ag' when it's used before a verbal noun, as in "Tá sí ag
ól uisce" 'She's drinking water'? It's not a P°, is it? In fact, what
would be the tree structure of that sentence?

Can anyone give me publication references for this?

Go raibh maith agaibh,

Tonio
