Subject: Celtic Myth Ulster Cycle Conference

This international conference devoted to the Ulster Cycle
of tales will be held at the National University of Ireland,
Maynooth, Co. Kildare, from 24 to 27 of June 2005. The
conference will be hosted by the University's Departments
of Modern Irish and Old- and Middle Irish. In addition to
the academic programme, a number of social events are planned,
including a tour to some sites associated with the Ulster Cycle.

Paper Call
The conference will provide a forum for papers and discussion
of all aspects of the Ulster Cycle or on related areas of early
Irish or comparative literature. Papers are invited on literature,=20
language, history, mythology, archaeology or other relevant areas
of research.  Each paper should last no longer than 30 minutes.
A further 10 minutes will be allowed for discussion.

Those wishing to read a paper at the conference should submit
a title and brief summary (c.100 words).  This should be sent
to Roinn na Nua-Ghaeilge, NUI Maynooth, Maynooth Co. Kildare to
arrive before 31 March 2005.


Registration
A registration fee of =8050 will cover documentation,  tea/coffee,
lunch (on Thursday, Friday and Monday) and receptions.

Excursion
An excursion is planned for Sunday 26 June to visit areas and
sites associated with early Irish history and mythology and
with the Ulster Cycle in particular.


Accommodation
Accommodation will be available on the university campus:
(a) single room with bathroom, regular or superior
(b) single room with shared bathroom.
As the number of available rooms is limited it is advised
to register early. In addition to university accommodation,
there is a hotel and several guesthouses in the university
area. A list of addresses can be supplied to those wishing
to make their own arrangements.

Dining
The registration cost covers lunch on Friday, Saturday and
Monday. For evening meals Maynooth offers a number of
restaurants varying in prices and includes Italian, Thai,
Chinese and Indian cuisine.
