finding information on CLAN utility programs

I need more info on CLAN utility programs and what they do - in
particular tierorder.
I've tried just typing in the command in the command window but the info
provided there isn't detailed enough and the CLAN manual provides info
on certain utilities (e.g. chstring) but not others.  Is there
additional info elsewhere?  Thank you.
